This week at TESCO Metering’s headquarters in Bristol, PA, was all about progress—progress in refining our EVSE test equipment, enhancing training programs, and ensuring our solutions stay ahead of evolving industry requirements. From adding new accessories and updating product documentation to preparing for upcoming equipment installation trainings, every effort was focused on supporting the growing demand for accurate, reliable EVSE compliance testing.
One of the most critical aspects of our work this week involved deep dives into certification and compliance. I had valuable discussions with installers actively preparing for CTEP certification and registration requirements. Many in the industry are still navigating the complexities of EV charger accuracy regulations, and our role at TESCO is to make compliance seamless, ensuring that test equipment is not only precise but also user-friendly for field verification.
Why EVSE Accuracy Matters More Than Ever
As electric vehicle adoption accelerates, the infrastructure supporting it must be both reliable and verifiable. With new legislation like California’s EPO 52 and upcoming national accuracy mandates in HB 44, the industry is facing increased scrutiny. This is where TESCO’s technology comes in—we provide test equipment designed to meet these regulatory requirements while offering ease of use for technicians in the field.
Dr. Bill Hardy’s pioneering work in EVSE test equipment laid the foundation for what we’re advancing today. He understood that in an industry still shaping its standards, accuracy and compliance couldn’t be an afterthought. Our patented technology ensures that EV chargers deliver what they promise to consumers, preventing overcharges and ensuring fairness in billing. This mission isn’t just about regulatory adherence; it’s about consumer trust and market integrity.
Adapting and Innovating in a Fast-Moving Industry
Beyond regulatory discussions, a key focus this week was user experience. We’re actively refining our equipment based on customer feedback, ensuring that every piece of test equipment we develop is intuitive, efficient, and adaptable to real-world challenges. The EVSE space is evolving rapidly, and innovation isn’t optional—it’s a necessity. Our ability to anticipate industry needs and provide practical solutions positions TESCO at the forefront of EVSE testing.
The Road Ahead
Every week brings new challenges, but it also brings opportunities to shape the future of EV charging accuracy. I’m grateful to be part of a team committed to ensuring fair and transparent charging for consumers while supporting manufacturers and installers with the tools they need to succeed.
Thank you for following along on this journey. The road ahead is exciting, and at TESCO, we’re making sure it’s built on accuracy, reliability, and innovation.
