The First Week of 2025: Reflecting and Recharging for the Year Ahead

As the calendar turns to 2025, I find myself reflecting on how much has changed—and how much potential lies ahead—in my journey as EVSE Product Manager at TESCO Metering. The first week of this pivotal year has been a mix of reflection, preparation, and anticipation for what’s to come. With regulatory changes in effect and ambitious goals on the horizon, it’s an exciting time to be at the forefront of EVSE testing and innovation.

Looking Back: Key Moments That Shaped My Journey

The past few months have been a whirlwind of growth and collaboration. From attending industry conferences to gaining hands-on experience with the T4350 and PL4350 test kits, each milestone has reinforced the importance of our work in ensuring fairness and accuracy in EV charging. Some of the standout moments include:

  • Finalizing materials that will empower our team with resources that drive customer engagement.
  • Meeting with potential partners to explore cobranding and opportunities that will expand market reach in 2025.
  • Engaging with clients across the country to understand their needs and prepare for the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) in Charleston later this month.

New Year, New Challenges

This week, I’ve felt the weight of the new Handbook 44 (HB 44) regulations that officially took effect. Conversations with colleagues and clients have highlighted both the excitement and the challenges that come with compliance. It’s not just about meeting standards—it’s about exceeding expectations and providing solutions that set our customers up for long-term success.

I’ve also revisited our goals for 2025. This year, I’m focused on several key initiatives:

  • Strengthening market outreach through updated EVSE collateral, an enhanced website, and improved proposal templates.
  • Expanding partnerships and exploring innovative ways to make EVSE test equipment more accessible, whether through financing options or localized inventory.
  • Supporting our team’s growth by establishing knowledge-sharing sessions for regional sales managers to deepen their understanding of EVSE testing best practices.
  • Expanding our EVSE Product Line with innovative tools designed to address market pain points, resolve operational challenges, and support progress across the EV charging ecosystem.

A Glimpse into 2025: What’s Next

Our TESCO Metering annual Sales Conference next week will be a key opportunity to present the strategies we’ve developed and gather feedback from the broader team. It’s a chance to align on our shared vision and kick off the year with a united approach. Additionally, preparations for NCWM are in full swing, with client meetings scheduled to discuss the impact of the new legislation and our role in helping them stay compliant.

Personal Reflections

This first week of 2025 has also reminded me of the importance of balance. It’s easy to get caught up in the momentum, but taking time to pause, reflect, and recharge is just as critical as executing on strategy. I’m grateful for the support of my team and for the opportunity to grow in a role that constantly challenges and inspires me.

Looking Forward

As I embark on the next chapter of my journey, I’m reminded that progress isn’t just about checking off goals—it’s about building something meaningful. I’m excited to see how this year unfolds and to share the wins, lessons, and stories that will shape our path forward.

Here’s to a new year filled with innovation, collaboration, and impact.

Until next time, thanks for following along on my journey!
